Bikeability Level 2 - Practising a left turn out of a minor road into a major road.

Bikeability

As a registered Bikeability Cycle Training Provider we deliver all modules of Bikeability Plus. Courses are available free of charge to school children.

Level 1 is a traffic-free course aimed at young riders aged 7-10 for mastering bike control skills. Level 2 is a course based on local streets and gives children from year 5 and onwards their first on-road cycling experiences. Attendees learn how to deal with moderate traffic on short journeys.  Ideal for achieving skills to cycle to school.

Level 3 advances attendees skills so they may adapt to riding more challenging roads and busier traffic situations.  Aimed at children in Year 7 and above, students develop skills for busier streets, complex junctions, queuing traffic, roundabouts, safest route planning. Year 6 pupils who have achieved Level 2 training can also participate.

Bikeability Balance and Bikeability Learn To Ride are courses aimed at younger Primary School learners.

Balance and Learn To Ride

As part of the Bikeability Plus programme we deliver two modules specifically for younger primary school children who are non-riders or novice riders; Balance and Learn To Ride.

Research conducted by Bikeability Trust has found that 40% of 6 year old’s are unable to ride a bike, finding it difficult to transition to a bike without stabilisers.  These two modules offer an ideal solution; learning first to balance without the need for pedals (a Balance bike), then progressing to learning how to pedal.  We provide the helmets and balance bikes when delivering Bikeability Balance. Hosting can be either indoors or outdoors.

As well as the above, we offer two specialist services.  Our unique gross motor skill based offering directed towards Early Years Learning departments such as Nurseries and Reception classes and a tailored gross motor skill service for SEND based learning organisations. Adult Cycling Training

Adult Cycling

There are so many reasons you may want to use a cycle to make a journey, like cycling to the shops, leading family leisure rides, or commuting to work. This training module is for adults who can already ride, to help them plan and enjoy cycling journeys with skill and confidence.

We also provide Learn To Ride lessons for adults.

The first step it to work out what sort of training you need.  Contact us with your requirements and we will get back to you within 2 working days to arrange a suitable schedule.

Inclusive Cycling - An inclusive cyclist is coached on the use of a Tricycle.

Inclusive Cycling

Inclusivity is a cornerstone principle of the set of Bikeability Plus modules. We actively encourage involvement of Inclusive cyclists in the delivery of our services. As mentioned above, we deliver our own gross motor skill based Balance and Learn To Ride services. We are happy to partner with you to develop a customised service to suit your needs.
